This evening (Friday), Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a phone call with Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed his condolences over the deaths of several civilians, nuclear scientists, and military officials in Iran due to the recent Israeli attacks, and expressed solidarity with the government and people of Iran.
President Putin stated that he had conveyed his concern about these aggressions to the officials of the Zionist regime and emphasized: “These attacks are a blatant violation of international law and norms. Russia is ready to mediate in order to de-escalate tensions.”
Pezeshkian, while thanking the Russian President for his phone call and condolences, emphasized that since the very first day of the 14th administration, the Zionist regime, through the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh—a formal guest of Iran—sought to provoke tensions and expand conflict in the region. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always declared it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons and is ready to provide assurances in this regard to the relevant international legal authorities.
The President concluded: “The Zionist regime’s aggressions are a clear violation of international rules and will definitely receive an appropriate response.”
