Iranian athletes competed in different sports on the 10th day of the Nagoya Asian Games. Iran has representatives in archery, beach volleyball, weightlifting, Kurash, boxing, diving, water polo, volleyball, track and field, shooting, squash, tennis, paddle and sailing.
Receiving 32 medals, including 8 gold, 15 silver and 9 bronze, Iran finished 8th in the medal table. In the early hours of the 10th day, Mahsa Beheshti snatched a bronze in weightlifting, and the advancement of two Iranian Kurash representatives to the semifinals was confirmed, making their bronze medals certain.
Mahsa Beheshti receives bronze
Mahsa Beheshti was Iran’s first representative in weightlifting on the 10th day. She successfully lifted 113 kilograms in the snatch and 146 kilograms in the clean and jerk in her weight category, securing the bronze medal with a total lift of 259 kilograms.
The medal was the first medal won by an Iranian female weightlifter at this edition of the Asian Games.

In the men’s -66kg Kurash competition, Majid Vahid Barimanlou defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Islam Kamchibekov 5–0 in the round of 16. He then beat Afghanistan’s Rahimullah Najmi 10–0 in the quarterfinals.
By advancing to the semifinals, Barimanlou secured at least a bronze medal for Iran.
Iran Beach Volleyball Advances to the Top Eight
Iran’s second beach volleyball team, featuring Abbas Pourasghari and Alireza Aghajani, faced Japan in the knockout stage and secured a 2–1 victory to advance to the final eight of the competition.
Meanwhile, Iran’s team consisting of Abolhassan Khakizadeh and Amirali Ghalenoee faced Kazakhstan in the round of 16 but suffered a 2–1 defeat and was eliminated from the competition.

With Mahsa Beheshti’s medal, the total number of medals won by Iran’s caravan reached 33, including 8 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze medals.
