During the call, the Iranian Foreign Minister strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, attacks on nuclear facilities and residential areas, which resulted in the martyrdom of several military figures, university professors, as well as Iranian women and children. He called for a firm global response and international condemnation of Israel’s aggression.
Araghchi stressed the serious expectation of the Iranian government and people from all countries that claim to support peace and the rule of law to denounce these criminal acts and apply pressure on the Israeli regime to end its aggression and lawlessness.
He also criticized the recent resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program — initiated by three European countries and the United States — describing it as a pretext and enabling factor for hostile Israeli actions against Iran’s nuclear sites. He emphasized that any attack on peaceful nuclear facilities is entirely illegal under international law and that the global community is obligated to hold the Israeli regime accountable for such unprecedented and dangerous violations.
Referring to Iran’s diplomatic initiatives to raise international awareness about the destabilizing actions of the Israeli regime, Araghchi urged the European Union and the permanent members of the Security Council to take a responsible stance, condemn the aggression, and hold the violating regime to account.
Citing statements and messages from the U.S. President, Araghchi blamed the Israeli regime’s hostile behavior on direct support from Washington. He stressed that the continuation of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, while Israeli atrocities persist, is unjustifiable.
The Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has given a firm response to the Israeli regime’s aggressions in defense of its sovereignty, people, and national security, and is determined to exercise its legitimate right to retaliate.
The EU’s foreign policy chief expressed deep regret and concern over the escalating tensions in the region and reaffirmed the European Union’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts within the UN Security Council and other international bodies to help de-escalate tensions and restore peace and security in the region.
