Iraq expresses full support for Tehran against zionist regime’s aggression

 Iraq’s National Security Ministerial Council held an extraordinary meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, to discuss regional developments and express support for the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to Israeli attacks.

According to the Persian report of ISNA, the emergency session of Iraq’s National Security Ministerial Council was held on Sunday under the leadership of Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the country’s Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The session focused on Iraq’s security and military conditions amid rising regional tensions.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Council affirmed its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in facing the Zionist regime’s attacks, describing them as an attempt to spread instability in the region and the world.

The Iraqi government also declared its readiness to provide any necessary assistance to the Iranian people in dealing with the consequences of this aggression. Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of preserving domestic security and referred to his prior instructions to the Foreign Ministry to pursue the matter in international forums and the United Nations in defense of Iraq’s sovereignty and in condemnation of the Israeli assaults.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also stressed efforts to facilitate the repatriation of Iraqi citizens residing in regional countries, including Iran. During the session, other topics related to regional developments were also discussed, and al-Sudani praised the capabilities of Iraq’s security institutions in maintaining internal stability and countering threats.

The National Security Ministerial Council further announced that legal action would be taken against individuals spreading rumors aimed at destabilizing the country.
