The British outlet, referencing the deception that led to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, outlined the severe consequences for the U.S. and UK if they join the Zionist regime’s aggressive attacks on Iran, which it described as based on false and illegal information.

According to the Persian edition of ISNA, the British outlet characterized the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity as a war driven not by necessity but by the personal agenda of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, based on misleading information. It warned that if the U.S. and UK enter this war, they risk reliving the disgraceful era of the 2003 Iraq War.

The Guardian reported: “Israel’s war against Iran, like the U.S.-led invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, is neither legal nor just. This war is a matter of choice, not necessity, and if the U.S. or other European allies, particularly the UK, join it, they face the risk of being drawn into another catastrophic and illegal conflict in West Asia.”

The outlet stated: “U.S. military intervention would be a direct violation of international law. The U.S., once the architect and guardian of the international system, is now one of its primary violators. President Donald Trump, instead of pressuring Netanyahu to end the siege and destruction of Gaza, has fully supported him, describing Israel’s attacks on Iran as ‘excellent.’ He has called for Iran’s ‘complete surrender’ and is considering military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Such actions are explicitly prohibited under Article 56 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions due to the risk of radiation and nuclear contamination.”

The Zionist regime’s aggressive attack on Iran’s nuclear, military, and residential facilities began at dawn on June 13 (23 Khordad), resulting in the martyrdom of several military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

The successful operations of Iran’s armed forces in repelling the Zionist enemy’s aggression, alongside a decisive response through the “True Promise 3” operation, continue.

Meanwhile, the Zionist regime seeks to draw the U.S., which was informed of and has openly supported this aggression, into direct military involvement in the war. Washington’s messages regarding its intent to intervene militarily in this conflict remain contradictory, given the potential for diplomatic progress with Iran.

Iranian officials have warned of a resolute response to any third-party involvement in this conflict.

Regional and international authorities, as well as analysts, have seriously warned about the consequences of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities due to the risk of humanitarian and environmental disasters caused by nuclear radiation from explosions.

Trump on the Brink of Repeating ‘America’s Greatest Mistake’

The report raised concerns about the dangers of U.S. military intervention in this aggression, stating: “U.S. military intervention would further dismantle the rules-based global order, making future conflicts more unpredictable and dangerous. Other powerful nations might adopt this precedent to justify their own aggressive attacks under the pretext of countering real or perceived threats to their national security. Today it’s Israel and the U.S.; tomorrow, China could use the same mindset to justify an attack on Taiwan.”

The British outlet, noting that the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran, like the Iraq War, was based on “fabricated information,” wrote: “Netanyahu was a staunch supporter of the neoconservative movement and its efforts to push the George W. Bush administration into invading Iraq with claims about Saddam Hussein’s possession of weapons of mass destruction and links to terrorism. Bush launched the war claiming Iraq had vast biological weapons stockpiles, while the CIA stated, ‘We don’t know if Iraq has nuclear weapons.’ Bush knew but lied.”

Although it appears Trump is now falling into the same trap of deception, the Guardian noted: “Trump himself has publicly criticized this deception, stating that Bush’s decision to invade Iraq was ‘the worst decision any president in U.S. history could have made. There were no weapons of mass destruction, and they [the Bush administration] knew it.’ Yet, it seems Trump is now repeating the same mistake.”

The outlet warned: “While the U.S. has no plans for a ground invasion of Iran, any attack on Tehran carries the risk of a full-scale regional war. Iran has repeatedly threatened to retaliate against such actions by targeting U.S. bases in Iraq, Bahrain, and the broader Persian Gulf region. For instance, Iran could mine the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage for global energy flows. The consequences of this could spread globally, impacting energy markets, causing inflation, undermining confidence in the U.S. dollar, and potentially triggering an economic recession.”

The Guardian added: “Even Yemen’s Houthis [Ansarallah movement], with far fewer military capabilities than Iran, managed to severely disrupt shipping in the Red Sea. If the U.S. joins Israel’s war, Iran may close trade routes, leading to a surge in oil prices.”
