According to the Persian edition of ISNA, Chuck Schumer stated in a release: “President Trump must provide clear answers to the American people and Congress regarding the actions taken against Iran and their consequences for American security.”
He added: “No president should be allowed to unilaterally lead this nation toward something as significant as war with erratic threats and without any strategy.”
Schumer said: “We must enforce the War Powers Act, and I urge Majority Leader John Thune to immediately bring it to the Senate floor. I will vote for it, and I call on all senators from both parties to do the same.”
The American Democrat, while leveling accusations that “countering Iran’s ruthless campaign of terror, nuclear ambitions, and regional aggression requires strength, resolve, and strategic clarity,” stated: “The risk of a broader, longer, and more devastating war has now dramatically increased.”
Following the savage attacks by the Zionist enemy in recent days, Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan were targeted this morning, Sunday, in a barbaric act violating international law, particularly the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
U.S. President Donald Trump, hours after his aggressive attack on parts of the Natanz, Fordo, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, said in a White House speech, repeating claims against the nature of Iran’s nuclear program and in hostile remarks, that the attacks aimed to “destroy enrichment capacity and halt the nuclear threat from a country that is the world’s greatest sponsor of terrorism.”
