The Political and Security Deputy of Qom Governorate said that although the attacks on the Fordo Nuclear Site have inflicted damage on it, no danger threatens the lives and security of the people, and everyday life continues without any disturbance in the city of Qom.

Morteza Heidari told the Persian edition of Tasnim that the U.S. assaulted the Fordo nuclear site at midnight last night in an illegitimate and brutal strike. The assault is a blatant violation of international law. However, even the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has remained indifferent to what happened.

Heidari explained that these sites are under the constant supervision of the IAEA, the Safeguards Agreement, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Therefore, the U.S.’s attack on them is regarded as a blatant violation of all global laws and regulations.

Regarding the current situation of the site, Heidari said, “We assure the dear people of Iran that – despite the damage inflicted on the site – no danger threatens their lives and security.”

“Traffic is flowing as usual on the connecting roads, and full security is in place in Qom, thanks to the presence of the city’s noble citizens.”
He noted that fortunately, nobody was injured or lost their lives as a result of this aggression.

He warned those who seek to spread rumors and weaken public morale, and insisted that Iranians now need unity more than ever. “The enemy has displayed all its power, but the people of Iran will never waver.”

Heidari emphasized that the attack is a clear violation of international law, noting that unfortunately, the assault has been met with indifference from the IAEA.
