Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister has said that Iran and the three European countries have agreed to continue consultations.

Following the meeting between Iranian and European officials on Friday in Istanbul, Kazem Gharibabadi wrote on his X account:

Together with @TakhtRavanchi, we held a serious, frank, and detailed discussion with the E3/EU PDs. The latest developments regarding the issue of sanctions lifting and the nuclear issue were discussed and reviewed. While seriously criticizing their stances regarding the recent war of aggression against our people, we explained our principled position, including on the so-called snapback mechanism. Both sides came to the meeting with specific ideas, the various aspects of which were examined. It was agreed that consultations on this matter will continue.

A meeting at the level of deputy ministers was held among representatives from Iran and the three European countries – Germany, the UK, and France – to discuss Iran’s nuclear program and the issue of snapback.

Iran has repeatedly stated that it is not pursuing a nuclear bomb, that its nuclear program is peaceful, and that it is open to negotiations. However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that enrichment is the right of the Iranian people and that they will not relinquish this right.
