According to Iran’s Ministry of Education, Iran’s national Olympiad team was sent to Paris on July 26 to take part in the 55th round of the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2025). The team was able to grab five silver medals.
Mohammad-Hassan Sadeqi-Nejad, Aria Zarrabi, Iliya Qashqaei, Mohammad-Hassan Golab-Dar, and Milad Mohammadi were the members of Iran’s team.
Before this, Iranian students had been sent to China, Australia, and France. Students were dispatched in two different math and chemistry teams to Australia and France.
While competing with 32 countries in China, the Iranian students in mathematics were placed second. The team experienced a 7-place rise in Australia to rank 12th.
Iranian students grabbed four silver medals in the 57th round of the Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai.
The International Physics Olympiad is an international competition for high school students. The first round of the contest was held in Warsaw in 1967. Since then, the Olympiad has been held every year (except for 1973, 1978, and 1980) in different countries.
