Firouzabad, a professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University and its former dean, received this international honor in recognition of “developing methods and modern models for evaluating and improving the reliable resilience and operational performance of electrical networks under uncertainty.”
The award was presented to him by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES). Named in honor of Professor Roy Billinton — a pioneer in power system reliability — the award is given to individuals with outstanding achievements in this field.
The award ceremony was held in Austin, U.S., on June 29, 2025, during the IEEE PES General Meeting.
