Pezeshkian: Armenians are respected, beloved, and popular in Iran

President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Yerevan, Armenia, at the head of a high-ranking delegation.

President Masoud Pezeshkian, during his visit to Armenia, met with Armenian Iranologists and emphasized that Iran and Armenia can further strengthen cooperation through friendship and their deep-rooted commonalities.
“I believe the beautiful and friendly perspective shared by you and the people of Iran can help expand relations more than ever, so that together we can bring greater peace, stability, friendship, and development to our two nations,” he said.
Quoting the famous verse of Iranian poet Saadi — ‘Human beings are members of a whole’ — the president stressed that if such wisdom forms the basis of our thinking and actions, many problems can be resolved.
Pezeshkian added: “Armenians are highly regarded within Iranian society. In Persian poetry, they have often been portrayed as honest and sincere people. They are truly dear to us.”
He also condemned the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza, saying: “Today we witness people being denied access to food and water, and bombed day and night — all by those who claim to be champions of democracy, human rights, and freedom.”
Highlighting the long history of relations, Pezeshkian noted that Iran and Armenia share thousands of years of neighborhood. “Thanks to their deep cultural, historical, and civilizational ties, Iranians and Armenians can continue to expand relations. Our peoples have always shared goodness, kindness, and friendship — memories that cannot be forgotten,” he concluded.

Pezeshkian arrives in Yerevan 

The president, who is visiting Armenia at the invitation of the Armenian Prime Minister, was received by the deputy prime ministers and the foreign minister of Armenia.
The trip is aimed at holding official bilateral talks.

 

Iran prioritizes enhancing ties with neighbors: Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says that his administration is seeking engagement and boosting relations with Iran’s neighbors as a priority.

He made the remarks at Tehran Mehrabad Airport on Monday ahead of his departure to Armenia and Belarus, where he stressed that his administration is seeking to promote relations with neighbors.
Based on the general policies of the country and the viewpoint of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s neighbors are a priority for establishing and developing relations, he underlined.
Turning to Iran’s relations with Armenia, Pezeshkian stated that Iran has a long-standing and strategic relationship with neighboring and friendly country, and has always tried to maintain good relations with each other on social, political, economic, and cultural fields.
President Pezeshkian noted that, he will hold talks with Armenian officials regarding the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) during the visit.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian pointed to his trip to Belarus and termed relations between Tehran and Mink in many social, economic, cultural and scientific issues ‘excellent’.
Iran and Belarus have high potentials to enhance their relations in all fields, he emphasized.
Belarus has defended the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in most international forums, including condemning Israeli attacks against Iran and also regarding the war on Gaza, he said, stressing that Iran can [develop] its relations with like-minded countries such as Belarus.
On Monday, President Pezeshkian was seen off by First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref and several officials.
During this visit, President Pezeshkian will be welcomed by Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan upon his arrival.
