Iran will participate in the International 2025 CITIE Exhibition in Guangzhou, China, to showcase the country’s tourism potentials, said the Director General of Marketing and Tourism Development of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.

Moslem Shojaei said that the exhibition will run from Sep. 12-14, adding that international events are considered the most important marketing tools in the industry, paving the way for negotiation, networking, and creation of enduring cooperation between the state and private sectors, as well as directly introducing the country’s potentials to foreign tourists and stakeholders.

Noting that maximizing the number of Chinese tourists to the country is among the set goals in line with the expansion of tourism, Shojaei said that Iran’s purposeful presence in such exhibitions is a strategic necessity.

“The tourism exhibition in Guangzhou is considered one of the most important tourism events in East Asia, held in Guangdong province. The province is one of the main hubs for tourist-sending in China and a gateway to access the large market in southern China,” the official said.

Shojaei said that Iran’s pavilion at the exhibition has been designed to simultaneously act as a venue for tourism marketing and to introduce the country’s cultural potentials.

He added that the exhibition features different sections, including organizing special meetings between Iranian tour organizers and their Chinese counterparts, holding joint meetings between the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consulate in Guangzhou and representatives of the state and private sectors of Iran and China, conducting Iranology workshops, organizing handicraft workshops, introducing Iranian souvenirs, showcasing clothes of different Iranian ethnic groups, and releasing films to introduce Iranian tourist attractions in Chinese.

Shojaei said that famous Chinese bloggers and media workers will be invited to cover news about Iran’s pavilion for greater influence. The official added that the exhibition is a unique opportunity to strengthen Iran’s tourism brand among Chinese audiences.
