FM Araghchi’s meetings in New York: From Japanese and Irish counterparts to the Elders Group

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, met with his counterparts on Tuesday in New York as part of his visit to the United States to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Elders is an international group of former leaders, prominent figures and human rights activists founded by Nelson Mandela in 2007.
The main aim of the group is to use the experience, influence and credibility of its members to resolve international conflicts, promote peace, human rights and sustainable development in the world.

Iranian, Irish foreign ministers meet in New York
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is in New York to attend the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, met and held talks with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Harris on Tuesday afternoon.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Iran and Ireland.
The Irish Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the reopening of the Irish embassy in Tehran and expressed hope that this would lead to the expansion of relations between the two countries.
Regional and international developments were also discussed during the meeting.

Araghchi meets Japanese foreign minister
Iranian and Japanese foreign ministers met and held talks in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly annual meeting on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they discussed and exchanged views on Iran-Japan bilateral relations, as well as regional and international developments.
Referring to the long-standing and friendly relations between Iran and Japan, the two foreign ministers emphasized the importance of efforts to strengthen relations in all areas of interest to the two countries.
