Iranian short film “Black Scarf” to inaugurate International British Film Festival

An Iranian short movie titled Black Scarf – recognized by BAFTA – will be screened as the opening film of a British festival.

Directed by Alireza Shah-Hosseini, the film has been selected for the main section of the 31st edition of the Encounters Film Festival and will be shown during the opening ceremony on Sept. 24. It will also be screened on the third and fourth days of the festival.

The festival is one of the leading international events in the field of short films, animation, and motion images. Its objective is to discover emerging and new talents in the filmmaking industry, and it hosts cinema professionals as well as enthusiasts from around the world.

The festival is supported by the award academies of Europe, BAFTA, and Canada. The 30th edition of the festival will take place Sept. 24–28 in Bristol, UK.
Black Scarf has already won the Special Jury Prize in the story section of “Seminci” in Spain, as well as the Best Film Award at the 22nd San Sebastián International Film Festival in Spain.
