The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in New York on Wednesday, with the French side writing in a post that he had told the Iranian side a deal was still possible.

Iran’s President Pezeshkian met with French President Macron on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.

Meeting with Macron was Pezeshkian’s first meeting with the leaders of other countries present in New York. The issue of continued cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency and the snapback mechanism were among the most important topics of discussion in the meeting, as reported by local Iranian media.

After the meeting, Macron took to the X to post that he had conveyed the European alleged concerns over Iran’s strained ties with the IAEA, reiterating the Europeans’ illegitimate demands.

“An agreement remains possible. Only a few hours are left. It is up to Iran to respond to the legitimate conditions we have set,” the French president wrote in his post.
