Iraqi pilgrims, tourists to Iran to increase to 5m

Iran’s minister of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts has announced the increase in Iraqi tourists, pilgrims to Iran from 3.5 million to 5 million individuals.

Avash News: Seyed Reza Salehi-Amiri, said that an agreement has been achieved between the two countries on the proposal of Iraqi party to increase the number of Iraqi tourists to Iran to 5 million.

The minister said that Iraqi tourists are interested in traveling to Iranian cities of Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kish, Rasht and other cities of Iran.

Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad: 5m Iraqi will travel to Iran by 2026

Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad also has said that Iraq is among Iran’s priorities for development of tourism.

The ambassador said that Roadshow Event was held on Oct. 7 in Baghdad Hotel in Iraq to make the two countries familiar with each other’s tourism potentials.

“Iran and Iraq enjoy old historical, religious and cultural commonalities,” the ambassador reminded, adding that Iran with its huge tourism potentials, particularly its high numbers of historical and natural attractions is very potential to expand tourism communication between the two countries that goes beyond their religious ties.

He said that Iran has planned to attracts 5 million tourists by 2026 from Iraq.
