Avash News: Araghchi’s remarks came after the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed that “If there were no Israel, there would be no Middle East — it would have been dismantled under the domination of Iran.”
Araghchi wrote on X, “This so-called ‘anchor’ of the Middle East is being prosecuted for genocide and war crimes. It has imposed an apartheid system on 7.5 million Palestinians, bombed seven countries over the past year, and occupied Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.”
Israel launched an unprovoked war against Iran on June 13, killing many civilians as well as senior military commanders, under the pretext of preventing Iran from developing a nuclear bomb. However, there was no evidence that Iran had access to nuclear weapons. At the time, Iran was engaged in negotiations with the United States — negotiations that Israel blew up.
