Tajik envoy stresses establishing a joint scientific cooperation committee with Iran

Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Tehran Zohidi Nizomiddin Shamsiddinzoda has stressed establishing a joint scientific cooperation committee with Iran, aiming to take advantage of educational capacities.

Nizomiddin Shamsiddinzoda made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Student Affairs Organization Saeed Habiba.

He underlined strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.

Despite numerous achievements in various fields, in the area of student cooperation, the two sides can achieve more desirable results, he stated.

While China annually provides 2,500 scholarships and Russia provides 1,500 scholarships to Tajik students, the number of Tajik students in Iran has decreased, he said.

He called for reviving scholarships and forming joint committees between the two countries to solve existing problems.

Tajik diplomat expressed hope that through joint cooperation, grounds would be paved for student exchange and improving the quality of education.

Tajikistan is very interested in expanding scientific cooperation with Iran and is ready to accept Iranian students in various fields, Nizomiddin Shamsiddinzoda reiterated.

Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan share a common language, history, and culture, which can help develop cooperation in various fields, he stated.
