Iran exports over $1 billion worth of goods via Mehran border

The director general of Ilam Province Customs has announced the export of $1.158 billion worth of various commodities from the Mehran border terminal to Iraq and other countries.

Sohrab Kamari said that this volume of commercial trade, recorded during March 20, 2025-January 20, 2026, exceeded two million tons in weight.

Kamari told IRNA on Monday that the exact value of the goods exported from the Mehran border reached $1,158,216,138, with a total weight amounting to 2,014,101 tons.

Regarding the composition of the export basket from this border, he said that the largest volume of shipments included petrochemical products, agricultural goods, power plant structures and tools, construction materials, tiles and ceramics, as well as metal and plastic structures.

Referring to last year’s statistics, the Director General of Ilam Customs recalled that last year, the total value of goods sent from the Mehran crossing to Iraq and other destinations was recorded at $1.811 billion, weighing 3.220 million tons.

Kamari also pointed to the daily traffic of commercial trucks, and said that after completing customs formalities, an average of nearly 400 trucks carrying commercial goods depart from this border gateway toward Iraq every day.
