Avash News: According to the adopted decisions, the upcoming negotiations will be conducted by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the direct supervision of the Iranian president.
Based on this, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, along with the deputy ministers and experts of the ministry, will assume responsibility for the negotiations under the direct supervision of the president.
It is not yet clear whether the American side, with Steve Witkoff as the U.S. envoy, will be ready to sit down for negotiations with Minister Araghchi and his team.
Iran had held five rounds of negotiations with the U.S. prior to the 12-day Israeli war against Iran during last June. Iran was in the middle of negotiations when Israel, and later the U.S., attacked its nuclear facilities and killed many civilians.
Iran has always stated that it is ready for negotiations based on equal footing and mutual respect.
