An Iranian TV series enters Cannes Film Festival for the first time

A TV series titled “Red and Black”, directed by Aida Panahandeh, has entered the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival.

Avash News: Red and Black is the first Iranian TV series to be showcased in the competition section of Cannes and has been warmly received by audiences.

In this edition of the competition, only eight series out of 300 international submissions were selected for the competition section.
The presence of Arte, ZDF, Disney, BBC, HBO, and Apple TV+ in the Cannes competition highlights the high level of competition at this global event.

Red and Black, Iran’s only representative in this international competition, is a historical drama written by Arsalan Amiri and Aida Panahandeh and produced by Mohammad Yamini and Mohsen Khabbaz.
