The two officials held a phone conversation on Wednesday, a day after Araghchi concluded a second round of talks with American representatives in Geneva. Grossi was also present during the Geneva negotiations.
During their conversation, Araghchi and Grossi reviewed the outcome of the talks and discussed the mechanisms required to advance the negotiation process.
The Iranian foreign minister said Tehran is focused on formulating a coherent framework to move the talks forward. Grossi, for his part, expressed the IAEA’s readiness to cooperate in shaping such a framework.
Araghchi also thanked the IAEA chief for attending the Geneva discussions, which Grossi described as positive.
The Geneva meeting marked the second round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, following the first round held on February 6 in Muscat. In both rounds, the US delegation was led by Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
Ahead of the second round of talks, Grossi and Araghchi also held an in-person meeting in Geneva on Monday.
