Following the first day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan, Araghchi said that all meetings and discussions were strictly business-like and devoid of standard formalities; particular emphasis was placed on existing opportunities for cooperation in the economic sector and other areas.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that the issue of aggressive US attacks and their consequences was also addressed. We emphasized that the Iranian nation will continue to stand firm in upholding its rights—a point that was underscored in all the meetings.
Araghchi continued that one of the topics raised in all the meetings was the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding—an agreement signed by the presidents of both countries that the United States has violated.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that the United States must return to its commitments and adhere to the terms of the memorandum; only then can we move past this situation, as all nations share the concern that the war should end as soon as possible.
