Traore, who traveled to Tehran representing his country as well as the Confederation of the three Sahel states—Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali—to participate in the ceremony paying tribute to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Friday.
In his meeting, Traore conveyed the condolences and solidarity of the president, government, and people of his country, as well as those of Niger and Mali, to the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and many Iranian officials and citizens who lost their lives during the US-Israeli-imposed war.
He commended the steadfastness and resilience of the Iranian nation in the face of unlawful threats and pressures, emphasizing that they have become a unique model of dignity and independence for all free nations.
For his part, Araghchi expressed gratitude for the sympathy shown by the government and people of Burkina Faso towards the Islamic Republic, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to continuing and strengthening good and fraternal relations with the West African nation.
