Deadly Israeli attack on girls’ school will not go unanswered: Araghchi

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned an Israeli attack on a girls’ school in southern Iran that lefts dozens of students dead, saying the crime will not go unanswered.

Posting a photo of the bombed-out school on social media, Araghchi said that the building was targeted in broad daylight.

“Tens of innocent children were killed in this place alone,” he wrote. “This crime against the Iranian people will not go unanswered.”

The Shajareye Tayabeh school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, came under direct attack early on Saturday as part of the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

A least 57 students were killed and 60 others wounded, local authorities said.

An Israeli strike targeting a girls’ school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, has left at least 57 students dead and 60 others wounded.

Minab’s provincial governor, Mohammad Radmehr, confirmed to IRNA on Saturday that the Shajareye Tayabeh school had directly been attacked and that a number of students had been martyred.

Radmehr also said that 53 students are still under the rubble.

He said rescue and aid operations were underway at the school, adding that the security situation in the city was under control.

The United States and the Israeli regime launched a joint act of aggression against Iran early on Saturday.

The Iranian Armed Forces launched massive retaliatory strikes, targeting the Israeli-occupied territories and American military bases across the region with ballistic missiles and drones.
