Iran and Tajikistan to boost cooperation in trade, industry and technology

Iran’s ambassador to Dushanbe and Tajikistan's minister of industry and new technologies have emphasized the need to increase bilateral relations, especially by focusing on cooperation in the fields of industry and technology.

During their meeting on Tuesday, Ambassador Alireza Haghighian and the Tajik minister, Sherali Kabir, exchanged views on areas and ways to develop and strengthen cooperation between the two neighboring and friendly countries.

The two sides agreed to focus more on the fields of mining and metallurgy, food industry, textile industry, handicrafts, agriculture, pharmaceutical industry and construction materials in the new year.

In the past few years, the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Tajikistan has increased significantly.

According to recent statistics from the Tajik Customs Service, the total bilateral turnover increased from $377.7 million in 2024 to $484 million in 2025, marking a 28% year-on-year growth.
