The Iranian squad, competing under coach Ayoub Rostami, took part in the tournament after returning to major international action at the Grand Slams in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan following a six-year absence.
Elias Parhizgar claimed gold in the men’s -81kg division on Sunday night after defeating Canada’s Olivier Gagnon in the final.
In the -90kg category, Amirabbas Choupan secured another gold medal by beating an Algerian opponent in the final bout to take the championship title.
A day earlier, Sobhan Hakimi captured Iran’s third gold medal in the youth -81kg division. Hakimi, Iran’s only representative in the youth category, advanced to the final with a dominant performance before defeating Algeria’s Abdullah Dalili by ippon in the decisive match.
The team is currently preparing for the Dakar Youth Olympics and the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, as it seeks to strengthen its international presence after years away from top-level competition.
