AVASH NEWS: The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is conditional on the United States changing its behavior, and laid out six conditions for taking such action. The conditions cover issues ranging from an end to the war and the lifting of the blockade to the removal of sanctions.

Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced six conditions for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In a message issued today regarding Iran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Zolghadr wrote:

“The Supreme National Security Council will never back down—whether in war or in negotiations.”

The full text of his message is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until the United States corrects its behavior. Correcting its behavior means:

1.Never threaten Iran, in any form or language, or insult the sacred values of the Iranian people.
2.Permanently end the war and aggression against Iran and Iran’s allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq.
3.Lift the naval blockade and withdraw its military forces—both naval and air—from around Iran.
4.Fully compensate Iran for the damages caused by the two wars of aggression and imposed wars, without any reduction or omission.
5.Lift the unjust and illegal sanctions imposed on the Iranian people.
6.Unconditionally release the frozen and confiscated assets belonging to the Iranian people.

“These are the demands of the Iranian people, who have voiced them through 160 days of relentless presence on the battlefield and in the streets.

The Supreme National Security Council will never back down—whether in war or in negotiations.”
