The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry addressed journalists in his weekly briefing on Wednesday and explained some details about the Iran–US negotiations in Pakistan.

Avash News: Esmaeil Baghaei said that freeing Iran’s assets was one of the main issues that could not be resolved in the negotiations because they did not reach a final outcome.

“Freeing Iran’s assets is not a concession. It is like someone has robbed your money and refuses to return it.”

Baghaei said that an extension of the truce cannot currently be approved. The talks are being conducted through Pakistan. Iran cannot be besieged. You cannot use another tool to exert pressure when you have failed in diplomacy.”

The official said that the security of the Strait of Hormuz has been ensured by Iran for decades.
“The recent war endangered the security of the strait. Any move or intervention in the affairs of the region can make things even more complicated.”

Baghaei also said that the type and level of enrichment are negotiable.
“We have emphasized that Iran must carry out uranium enrichment based on its needs.”
