Iran’s president has reacted to recent remarks by a reformist figure in Iran who accused the dominant political system of killing ordinary citizens and setting public property on fire, saying that “we can assign him to a fact-finding committee to pursue the issue and prove his claims.”

Avash News: Masoud Pezeshkian said that if what his reformist colleague has said is true, a disaster has occurred in Iran.

“The occurrence of such incidents inside Iran is unacceptable from my viewpoint, which means something is wrong with us,” Pezeshkian said, adding, “We, as managers, must be criticized. We must criticize ourselves instead of criticizing the other side.”

Pezeshkian raised the question: “Why can’t we have dialogue? Why can’t we make problems transparent so that everyone can see what has really happened? Who has been guilty, and how should we treat this disease?”

The president referred to remarks made by reformist politician Shakouri-Rad, who accused the political system of killing people and destroying public property, and said, “We should see our shortcomings and reform them so that we can stay together.

“We should help society achieve unity and cohesion and make Iranian-Islamic culture operational,” Pezeshkian said.
