Ghalibaf, at the head of a delegation, landed in the Omani capital late in the evening to hold talks on bilateral relations with top officials, including Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
During a brief welcoming ceremony, Al Busaidi and Ghalibaf exchanged views on cooperation and good neighborliness between the Kingdom of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran and ways to boost them in pursuit of common interests.
The two sides emphasized the importance of utilizing the current diplomatic opportunity to support peace efforts, reduce tensions and consolidate stability in the region, based on the principles of international law and good neighborliness.
During the meeting that was also attended by Araghchi, the two sides also exchanged their views on the latest regional developments, in the wake of the joint US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran and ensuing peace efforts.
The top parliamentarian and his team are paying an official visit to Oman, a day after holding a quadrilateral meeting in Switzerland involving the United States as well as Pakistan and Qatar, as the two mediating countries, on the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding reached between Tehran and Washington.
