Kamal Khan made the remarks at the opening session of the 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee, which took place in Islamabad on Tuesday and was attended by the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak.
He said, “We are very pleased that today’s meeting is a result of ongoing consultations between the officials of both countries, as well as the agreement of the leaders of Iran and Pakistan to increase the volume of trade exchanges.”
Pakistan’s Commerce Minister emphasized that Iran and Pakistan share a long history of brotherly relations, which is a strong foundation for their continued friendship and cooperation as neighbors.
Kamal Khan added, “We need to take practical steps to enhance bilateral trade. This meeting should serve as a new opportunity to expand cross-border exchanges.”
Pakistan’s Commerce Minister highlighted the need to finalize the Free Trade Agreement and implement the joint roadmap.
He expressed hope that the achievements of the 10th Joint Trade Committee meeting would lead to the expansion of bilateral trade.
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade arrived in the Pakistani capital on Monday evening to attend the 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee and hold talks with senior Pakistani officials on expanding economic and commercial cooperation.
