The president emphasized that while Iran supports peace, safeguarding the country’s power will continue firmly and without retreat.
The text of the president’s message reads:
“Some countries have begun efforts to mediate. Our response to them is clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region, but we have not the slightest doubt when it comes to defending the dignity and power of our country. Those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited this conflict should be the ones addressed by mediation.”
Pezeshkian’s response to mediation efforts
After some countries announced mediation initiatives, Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on X:
“We are committed to lasting peace in the region, but we have not the slightest hesitation in defending the dignity and strength of our country.
Some countries have begun mediation efforts. Our response is clear: we support lasting peace in the region, but mediation should be directed toward those who underestimated the Iranian people and ignited the conflict.”
