Renowned Iranian actor Enayat Bakhshi passes away

Iran’s well-known actor Enayatollah Bakhshi has succumbed to illness at the age of 80.

Bakhshi had been hospitalized for about two months. He was undergoing treatment due to multiple physical ailments and an infection.

Bakhshi, who last year received an Honorary Diploma for best supporting cast at the Fajr Film Festival, recently played a role in the film Shah-e Naqsh (King of the Role), directed by Shahed Ahmadlou and produced by Ali Ghaemmaghami.

The 80-year-old actor’s career includes roles in films such as Sag Koshi (Killing Mad Dogs), Rooz-e Vagh’e (The Fateful Day), Sahereh (The Witch), Faryad (The Cry), Mosaferan (The Travelers), Shekar (The Hunt), Teran (The Train), Senator, Sardar-e Jangal, and Aghaye Haloo (Mr. Naive), as well as TV series like Imam Ali, Pahlevanan Nemimirand (Pahlavans do not die), Velayat-e Eshgh (The Land of Love), Polis-e Javan (The Young Policeman), Zir-e Tigh (Under Razor, and Kalantar (The Sherif).

Bakhshi had collaborated with numerous directors, including Ebrahim Golestan, Bahram Beyzaie, Ali Hatami, Amir Naderi, Masoud Kimiai, Dariush Mehrjui, and Davoud Mirbagheri.
