The Office of the President, in a statement issued in line with the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsiveness, and by the order of Dr. Pezeshkian, published a list containing the details of 2,986 individuals who lost their lives in the recent incidents. The list was compiled based on records prepared by the country’s Legal Medicine Organization and cross-checked with the Civil Registration Organization’s database.

Avash News: In a statement issued by the Office of the President regarding the January 1404 incidents, emphasizing that all victims of these events and the recent unrest were children of this land and that no bereaved family should be left in silence or without support, it is stated:

Contrary to the enemies and long-standing ill-wishers of this nation, who treat human lives as mere numbers and attempt to exploit inflated figures for political gain, from the perspective of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, those who lost their lives in these tragic incidents are not merely statistics. Each of these victims represented a community and a world of human connections. Every Iranian, for us, is equivalent to an Iran itself, and the President, in accordance with his moral duty and the covenant he has made with the nation, considers himself the guardian of their rights.

The full text of the statement from the Office of the President regarding the recent incidents is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Our beloved Iran today stands alongside and shares in the grief of the families who are mourning the profound loss of their loved ones. It is the moral and human responsibility of the people, the government, and the governing institutions to give responsible attention to the compounded suffering of the survivors of all those who lost their lives. All victims of these incidents and the recent unrest were children of this land, and no bereaved individual should be left in silence or abandonment.

Contrary to the enemies and historical ill-wishers of this nation, who bargain with human lives as mere numbers and seek political benefit by inflating them, from the viewpoint of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the victims of these tragic incidents are not simply figures. Each of them embodied a society and an entire world of relationships. Every Iranian is, to us, the equivalent of an Iran, and the President, based on his moral responsibility and the pledge he has made to the nation, regards himself as the protector of their rights. It is now, with deep sorrow, announced to the noble people of Iran that the total number of those who lost their lives in the recent incidents, as previously communicated, stands at 3,117 individuals.

In line with the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsiveness, and by order of the Honorable President, a consolidated list of names—prepared by the country’s Legal Medicine Organization and cross-checked with the Civil Registration Organization’s database—is hereby released as an attachment, containing the identifying details of 2,986 individuals. The discrepancy of 131 cases compared to the previously announced figure is due to the unidentified status of some individuals and inconsistencies in the registration of national identification numbers in the Civil Registration system. These will be corrected and presented in a supplementary list as soon as the necessary revisions are completed.

The attached list includes the first name, last name, father’s name, and the last six digits of the national identification number of the deceased. With full awareness of the concerns and sensitivities of our fellow citizens, a system has been designed, the address of which will be publicly announced within the next 48 hours, to allow any new information or claims to be reviewed and verified without administrative complexity, while fully respecting dignity and privacy, and to provide accurate and substantiated responses to any potential ambiguities.

We hope that, through unity, empathy, and concerted efforts to address the needs of those affected and the victims of these unfortunate incidents, we will witness the restoration of greater calm and the strengthening of national solidarity in our beloved Iran. God willing.
