Avash News: A member of the board of the Iranian Steel Producers Association, emphasizing the continuity of production in this vital industry, said that the country’s steel sector remains fully committed and that no disruption in production will occur.
Seyed Reza Shahrestani, a board member of the Iranian Steel Producers Association, stated that following the recent attacks on two major steel companies in the country, including Khuzestan Steel Company and Mobarakeh Steel Company of Isfahan, steel production is continuing uninterrupted.
Referring to the significance of these two companies, he said they together produce more than 15 million tons, and with the country’s total steel output exceeding 32 million tons last year, they accounted for nearly 50 percent of Iran’s production.
He added that fortunately, the damage inflicted on Mobarakeh Steel was not serious, noting: “Unfortunately, the damage to Khuzestan Steel has been more extensive, but fortunately, there were no fatalities in these attacks.”
The board member also pointed to the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Aliabadi’s emphasis on preventing power outages in industrial sectors, stating that if electricity cuts do not occur, the country’s industries will not face a steel shortage. The total steel production capacity of the country is about 50 million tons.
Shahrestani further referred to the favorable export performance of Mobarakeh Steel in recent months, saying that this success was not achieved overnight but is the result of years of proper management and sustained effort.
