In a post on X on Wednesday night, Baqaei said the US was seeking to promote an anti-Iran coalition by contacting countries that have little or no meaningful economic relations with Iran.
“Washington’s Iran policy has reached pure parody,” he wrote, saying: “It turns to Bahrain – a country with virtually no meaningful economic exchange with Iran – to prove that its ‘coalition’ is working.”
The spokesperson further said that the United States “stops Iranian sports and academic exchanges that had already been effectively dead for years. It is sanctioning the already sanctioned and calling the empty space a coalition.”
