Avash News — Seyed Javad Hosseini said that students who have dropped out of school will receive 2 million tomans per month if they return to school.
The official said that some students have dropped out of school, including 2,808 who are currently under the organization’s coverage.
“Any of them who return to school will receive 2 million tomans every month,” he said.
“Nobody should drop out of school, and everyone must have access to education,” the official emphasized.
Elementary education and President’s emphasis on learning skills
Meanwhile, the deputy head of Iran’s Education Ministry has said that 99 percent of elementary school students have returned to school.
Rezvan Hakimzadeh pointed to the President’s emphasis on learning a skill and said that each grade of elementary school will focus on a type of skill that is more appropriate for that age group.
The official said that, according to this consideration, students in the first grade will learn “the rules of politeness,” those in the second grade will learn the “principles of order,” those in the third grade will learn “responsibility in correctly consuming energy,” those in the fourth grade will learn about “empathy,” those in the fifth grade will learn about “courage,” and those in the sixth grade will learn about “resilience.”
The official also said that last academic year, about 14,562 students (September 23-June) had left school. Most of them were from Sistan-Baluchestan, Tehran, Khorasan Razavi and Khuzestan, and most of them were also in the first grade.
She explained that 41,712 of them had traveled abroad with their families, with nearly 18,000 having some type of physical disability.
“Out of the total population of students who have dropped out of school, about 48,000 have been identified and returned to school.”
The official said that 55.54 percent of those who dropped out of school are boys and 44.55 percent are girls. Those with hard-to-treat diseases, those with severe psychological and mental illnesses, those with cultural and family problems, and children with intellectual disabilities were among those who dropped out of school.
Regarding homeschooling conditions, she said that homeschooling in Iran must be carried out within the official framework and according to the established procedures, and families cannot independently educate their children at home.
“A family that wants to teach its children at home must officially declare this decision to the relevant authorities and must meet the necessary conditions, and these students must be tested and evaluated.”
