Avash: Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia, speaking at a gathering of Unit 65, the special forces rapid reaction unit of Iran’s Army Ground Forces, pointed to the special standing of the unit in Iran’s defensive structure, saying that “Unit 65 is a strategic unit, and its mission is not only defined at the tactical level; the operations of this unit have implications and strategic consequences at the national and international levels.”
He added that having educated, capable and devoted forces has made the unit one of the most important capabilities of the Army and the country.
He said that the enemy, with its miscalculations, thought it could destroy the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces within a few days and achieve its goals, but the resistance of the Armed Forces and the Iranian nation disrupted these calculations.
He said that the enemy’s goals were not limited to the nuclear, missile and resistance front issues; they sought goals beyond that and wanted to bring down the Islamic Republic and cause Iran to collapse.
“They couldn’t,” he said.
He said that the beliefs and motivations of Iran’s Armed Forces were among the main factors behind their resistance against the enemy.
“It was not only equipment and capabilities that kept the Iranian Armed Forces in the battlefield; it was also their beliefs, motivation and spirit of resistance, as well as their deep belief in defending the government and the system.”
He said that the Iranian people had a defining role in this battlefield.
“The Iranian people stood with the Armed Forces, and the presence of people in the streets and at night gatherings not only showed unity and national cohesion, but also strengthened the morale of the soldiers and increased their level of commitment and responsibility in defending the country.”
Referring to the current situation in the United States, he said that the US president is under heavy pressure from Zionist currents, on the one hand, to carry out new acts of sabotage against Iran, while on the other hand, he is facing opposition from people in the US to the war with Iran. These conditions have made decision-making very complicated and difficult for the US government.
The Army spokesperson said that Iran’s Armed Forces are closely monitoring developments and threats facing Iran.
“We are enhancing our capabilities and are ready for any situation.”
