Avash: During his trip to New York, President Pezeshkian also met with the heads of several countries, including Sweden, Iraq, Bangladesh, Norway, Armenia, the Netherlands, India, Lebanon, and Pakistan, as well as the President of the European Council and the Director-General of the United Nations, in separate meetings, in addition to participating in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and addressing the participants.
President Pezeshkian also met with the editors-in-chief of American media outlets, representatives of American think tanks, and Iranians residing in the US.
He also gave interviews to news networks including Fox News, CBS, and Al Jazeera, in which he elaborated on Iran’s position regarding different domestic, regional, and international issues.
President Pezeshkian spoke of recent developments in Iran and the region in his speech. He showed pictures of the victims of the 40-day war to the participants as evidence of an unprovoked and unjust war against Iran initiated by the US and Israel on March 9, 2026.
Pezeshkian emphasized the right of Iranians to defend their homeland and said that Iran had never started a war over the past 200 years. However, he said that Iranians are entitled to use nuclear knowledge for peaceful medical and energy purposes.
The President emphasized the need for a stable and safe neighborhood and said that Iran wanted to have good relations with its neighbors. He also highlighted the sabotage carried out by Israel and the US against civilians in Iran and said that while they were committing crimes, Iran was being accused by the world, which was unjust.
