Avash: Asked about the purpose of Pakistan’s chief of army staff’s visit to Iran, Baghaei said, “Let him arrive, and we will see what issues we are supposed to discuss.”
“The trip was planned in advance. These visits are partly related to Iran and partly concern the bilateral relations between the two countries,” he said.
The Iranian official said that hearing contradictory remarks from American officials was nothing new. “Our position is clear. The message from the other side was unclear and incomplete. Iran’s seven demands are neither odd nor unusual. They have already been agreed upon in previous understandings.”
Answering a question about Iran’s 19 oil tankers stranded in Sri Lanka, Baghaei said that the issue needed to be investigated. “We have good relations with Sri Lanka. They cooperated properly with us regarding the Dena fleet, and we have not forgotten that.”
