According to the Persian edition of ISNA, the emergency meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) began today in Vienna, at the request of Iran, Russia, Venezuela, and China, to discuss the Zionist regime’s aggressive assault on Iran.
The illegal Israeli attack, a blatant violation of the UN Charter, began at dawn on June 13. These strikes targeted military and nuclear facilities as well as residential areas, resulting in the martyrdom of several senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and both civilian and military personnel.
In recent days, multiple Iranian nuclear facilities—including the Natanz and Fordow enrichment sites, the Isfahan nuclear complex, and the heavy water reactor in Khondab (Arak)—have been attacked repeatedly by the Zionist regime.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, emphasized that fortunately, there were no casualties at any of the nuclear facilities targeted during the attacks.
Last Friday, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi responded to the attacks during a session of the Board of Governors, stating: “I have repeatedly said that nuclear facilities must never be targeted, regardless of the context or circumstances, as such actions pose risks to human lives and the environment. These attacks carry serious consequences for nuclear safety, security, safeguards, and regional and international peace and security.”
