The American media outlet emphasized that European leaders humiliated themselves before the U.S. president in an effort to keep the United States in NATO, stating: none of them believed Trump’s claim that U.S. and Israeli bombs had set Iran back by “decades.”

According to the Persian edition of ISNA, the NATO summit held in recent days in The Hague focused primarily on keeping the U.S. within the alliance and maintaining military aid to Ukraine.

Bloomberg, referring to the summit, noted that European leaders had to demonstrate loyalty and praise U.S. President Donald Trump to avoid provoking his threats of NATO withdrawal.

According to the American outlet, the meeting in The Hague made no pretense of global strategic discussion. Rather, it revealed desperate efforts by European NATO members to boost defense spending. In an unprecedented move—even during the Cold War—the summit openly praised the honored American guest.

Bloomberg reported that many Western leaders, though privately opposed to Trump, were forced to yield, comply, and agree. None of them, except the main guest, believed his claim that U.S. and Israeli strikes had set Iran’s nuclear program back “by decades.” But they remained silent—and will continue to do so—to avoid angering him.

The network further pointed out that amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, European leaders acknowledged that they cannot provide President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with what he receives from the United States. Every NATO member present in The Hague admitted that only their compliance—and Zelenskyy’s—can ensure continued support for Ukraine.

Bloomberg added that it is unlikely most NATO countries will make serious efforts to meet their stated defense spending goals, as the deadlines extend into the next decade—by which time many current leaders will have left office.

The American outlet also stated that most Europeans were shocked by the U.S. airstrikes on Iran, viewing them as the realization of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s agenda. Nevertheless, yesterday in The Hague, truth once again yielded to what the American president wanted to hear.
