The president made the remarks as he received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors from Ethiopia, Estonia, Djibouti, Laos, Cambodia, Burundi, Latvia, Myanmar, and Nepal, during a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday.
Pezeshkian wished the ambassadors success in their missions and the accomplishment of their objectives.
“Iran is ready and eager to enhance relations with these countries in all areas, including political, economic, trade, cultural, scientific, and technological, based on mutual respect and the pursuit of shared interests,” he said.
While addressing the ongoing and escalating crimes committed by the Israeli regime against the oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza, he emphasized, “All countries of the world, especially Islamic countries, must make more serious efforts and cooperate to stop these atrocities, lift the blockade, and provide unrestricted and extensive humanitarian aid to the innocent people of Gaza.”
Pezeshkian added: “The killing of innocent people and cutting off their access to food, water, and medicine under the pretext of self-defense is an inhumane catastrophe. An even greater tragedy is that these crimes are being committed before the eyes of those who are self-proclaimed advocates of human rights, democracy, and human freedom.”
Meanwhile, the ambassadors extended warm greetings and good wishes from their respective heads of state to President Pezeshkian and the Iranian people. They underscored their commitment to advancing friendly relations and expanding constructive bilateral cooperation.
