In response to remarks made by Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who said, “Iranians have no access to basic needs because of their government,” the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, wrote on his X account:

“Does a regime that has deprived people of Gaza of food and water want to bring water to Iran? What a delusion!”
In his recent statements, Netanyahu promised the Iranian people that “if Iran’s regime is overthrown, advanced Israeli water technologies will be brought to Iran.” In a video addressing Iranians, he claimed that the country’s water crisis is caused by mismanagement and misplaced priorities.

Dire situation of Palestinians

Addressing a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Pezeshkian condemned Netanyahu for his misleading statements, saying the Israeli prime minister should first take a look at the dire situation of Palestinians, especially children in Gaza, instead of falsely sympathizing with the Iranian people.
Condemning the ongoing genocide, he said that the horrible situation in Gaza is due to “the continuation and even intensification of the crimes by the child-killing Zionist regime and the deaths of children and defenseless people due to hunger resulting from the cruel siege.”
Those who, with a deceptive appearance, falsely claim compassion for the people of Iran, should first take a look at Gaza, where the people especially children, are struggling with death due to hunger and lack of access to clean water and medicine, the President underlined.
He added that the criminal regime wants all regional countries to be humble and humiliated, and has repeatedly attacked them, leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. “Claiming to be humane by such vile individuals is nothing but mockery and befooling the people.”
In the cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian also received performance reports from different departments and agencies, including the Health Ministry that presented an assessment of the impact of sanctions on the mortality rate in the targeted countries.
Pezeshkian reiterated his call for heads of world powers, international agencies, as well as human rights groups to pay special attention to this alarming reports and realize that the deaths due to illegal sanctions have been far greater than the deaths occurred in the two world wars.
