The unveiling ceremony was attended by Tajikistan’s ambassador to Tehran, IRIB President Peyman Jebeli, and members of the film crew.
Jebeli noted that the production aligns with IRIB’s new goals and its approach to creating joint works with Persian-speaking countries.
“Friendship between Iran and Tajikistan, and the fact that we share a common language while living in two different lands, has been described as a family-like relationship rooted in cultural, civilizational, and artistic commonalities,” he said.
He emphasized that poets from both nations have long referred to each other’s literary figures with respect and goodwill. Highlighting Roudaki as a prominent poet, Jebeli noted that his works have helped strengthen the bonds between the Iranian and Tajik peoples.
Fish on the Hook was filmed in Tajikistan. It tells the story of a courageous child with strong self-esteem who refuses to be caught “on the hook” like a fish, choosing instead to move forward with hope for a bright future.
Tajikistan’s ambassador to Iran, Nezam-eddin Zahedi, recited verses by Roudaki and highlighted the cultural commonalities between the two nations, including language, religion, and history. He stressed that these shared elements originate from deep historical roots. “Our great ancestors left us this heritage, and we must cherish it,” he said.
He further underlined that such commonalities pave the way for stronger political, economic, and cultural relations between Iran and Tajikistan. “We are pleased that political dialogue between the two countries continues, and that bilateral ties are expanding,” he added.
