“Safavid Iran in the Era of Emperors” released in Iran

The book Safavid Iran in the Era of Emperors, written by Charles Melville and translated by Khosrow Khajeh-Nouri and Neda Honarmandi, has been published in Iran.

Avash News: This 727-page volume has been released by Amir Kabir Publishing in an edition of 500 copies. According to the introduction, Safavid Iran in the Era of Emperors is the tenth volume in the eleven-volume series The Idea of Iran, originally published by I.B. Tauris in London.

Among the volumes of the series already translated into Persian are: The Birth of the Persian Empire, Iran after the Mongols, The Timurid Era, and The Rival Empires and Governance in Eighteenth-Century Iran.
Charles Melville, a British scholar of Shiʿism and a prominent Iranologist, currently teaches at the University of Cambridge.
