During a telephone conversation with Wang Yi on Wednesday, Araghchi highlighted the importance of constructive cooperation among China, Iran, and Russia in opposing US unilateralism.
He expressed appreciation for China’s principled stance in declaring the so-called “snapback” process illegal at the United Nations Security Council, adding, “The constructive cooperation between China, Iran, and Russia in countering the unilateralism of the United States and certain Western countries at the United Nations is highly significant and has the support of 121 member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement.”
In light of the ongoing provocative actions by the Zionist regime in the West Asia region, the top Iranian diplomat said, “The international community must stand against the warmongering and hegemonic policies of this regime to prevent further escalation of the crisis in the region.”
For his part, the Chinese Foreign Minister highlighted the strategic relations between Tehran and Beijing, underscoring the importance of ongoing cooperation and continuous contacts between the two countries at the United Nations and other multilateral institutions.
Wang Yi also expressed appreciation for Iran’s peaceful approach to its nuclear program, affirming the nuclear rights of the Islamic Republic as a key member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
Both sides highlighted the constructive meeting between the presidents of the two countries in September, as well as the forthcoming High-Level Joint Commission meeting.
They expressed strong determination to advance the understandings reached under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. Both parties are hopeful that these agreements will be implemented through executive mechanisms between Iran and China.
The parties also agreed to maintain close diplomatic contacts and joint efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the coming year, which coincides with the fifty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iran and China.
