AVASH NEWS: Araghchi said that the SCO must counter the unilateral policies of the United States and the West, as well as Western entities that are trying to impose their hegemonic policies on international relations.
He noted that the discussions at the SCO were mainly about how to counter the unilateral policies of the United States and the West. Araghchi said that his speech at the meeting was mainly about the US aggression against Iran and the aggression committed against the country. He noted that cooperation with China and Russia is ongoing and that Iran consults with its friends in China and Russia whenever the opportunity arises. He said that the SCO meeting was a good opportunity to hold detailed talks with his counterparts, Wang Yi and Lavrov.
The minister said that it is very natural that discussions are also underway with Pakistan, as a mediator, regarding various initiatives and proposals. He said that mediation is not an issue between Iran and the US, but the problem is the US’s approach. He emphasized that Iran has shown it won’t accept bullying by the United States and will by no means respond to the language of force, pressure, and threats.
Araghchi also emphasized: “We are neither scared of threats nor will we bow to pressure, and we won’t tolerate the language of threats. We have a principled policy and will continue to pursue it. Safeguarding the Iranian people and Iran’s interests in the Strait of Hormuz is among our principles, and we will continue to pursue them. As long as the legitimate goals and demands of the Iranian people are not fulfilled, it is natural that we will continue our course.”
