AVASH NEWS: Abbas Sadrian-Far said that in the early hours of Monday, the Hendijan Drainage Pumping Station, located along the Mahshahr–Hendijan road, was targeted by what he described as Israeli-American forces.
He added that one employee of the Zohreh and Jarahi Irrigation Network Operation Company was killed in the attack, while another employee was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Explaining the importance of the drainage pumping station, Sadrian-Far said that the facility plays a vital role in managing and discharging agricultural drainage water in the region. He added that its continued operation is essential for maintaining the functionality of the irrigation and drainage networks.
Condemning the attacks, Sadrian-Far said that targeting public service facilities, critical infrastructure, and the personnel responsible for operating and maintaining them around the clock violates humanitarian principles and international law.
He also extended his condolences to the family of Shaker Mohseni, the employee killed in the airstrike, and wished the injured worker a speedy recovery.
The United States resumed its attacks on facilities in southern Iran on Wednesday. The attacks come despite Iran and the United States having reached a Memorandum of Understanding on a 60-day ceasefire.
